A guide on how to factory reset an HTC Desire 320 smartphone

If your HTC Desire smartphone keeps freezing, you’ve forgotten the security codes or it just doesn’t work, you might want to reset it back to its factory settings. 

Here is how to factory reset an HTC Desire if you have access to the device:

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Tap Backup & reset.
  3. Tap Factory data reset.
  4. Tap Reset phone, and then tap Erase everything.

Here is how to hard reset an HTC Desire using the hardware buttons If you can’t turn it on or access settings:

(Note : This erases everything on your phone, so if you’re not locked out try backing it up first.)

  1. Switch your phone off. If it's frozen, remove the battery to turn it off then put it back.

  2. Press and hold the VOLUME UP button, and then press and hold the POWER button.

  3. Wait for the screen with the Android image to appear and to be in recovery mode, and then release the POWER and VOLUME UP buttons.

  4. Press the POWER button.

  5. You will see the Android system recovery screen as shown below. To navigate through this menu, use the VOLUME DOWN button to scroll and the VOLUME UP button to confirm selections.

    Press the VOLUME DOWN button to select wipe data/factory reset, and then press the VOLUME UP button to select.

  6. Press VOLUME DOWN and select Yes - Delete All User Data, then VOLUME UP to confirm

  7. Select Reboot System Now. Tap VOLUME UP. The phone will reboot to its factory settings.
